As a lover of beauty, I like to explore new things and for this shopping trip I wanted all new (to me) products that I’ve been hearing about. During the summer, I’m super active, outdoors and in water almost all of the time. I also prefer a more casual and quicker look to keep my focus on fun. Thankfully for me, they are all affordable options to give my glam bag a makeover! Here’s what I found:
Morrocan Oil’s All In One Leave In Conditioner, $28 – Let me just tell you, I got a travel size because my hair is SUPER difficult in summer thanks to the sun/sand factor. I’m kicking myself for not grabbing a full size because I should have grabbed two! My locks are fine texture so when my ah-mazing stylist recommended it, I was skeptical. Typically oil products leave me flat and greasy, not Morrocan Oil. I have fallen in love with this brand over the past year and this leave in conditioner #1 on my list (tied with their dry shampoo). It’s a combination of argan oil, amino acids and superfoods like sunflower oil (which is a scalp anti-inflammatory and that prevents breakage!) But my FAVORITE attribute is that it detangles and hydrates for just about EVERY skin type!
Learn from my mistake, grab the full size through Morrocan Oil.
Garnier SkinActive’s Water Rose 24H Moisture Cream, $15 – If you haven’t noticed, I rotate skin care products regularly because my skin adapts to every bottle before it runs out. Like my hair, my skin rides the struggle bus all summer long unless I throw it a life line like this moisture cream! Foremost, it’s main ingredient is rose water which is a MUST for me during summer and winter. Why this ingredient is so essential for summer is the ability to balance the skin’s natural oils, it reduces redness, and hydrates in a refreshing way. This moisture cream also provides the benefit of ‘locking in’ the hydration through hyaluronic acid. I enjoy it most after a day outside (versus daily) to help rejuvenate my skin after a day of play!
Grab it here with the full line (which I can’t wait to try) through Garnier USA.
L’Oreal Paris’ Air Volume Mega Mascara, $14 – Mascara is one of my favorite beauty products and I’m pretty loyal to a few wands. However, L’Oreal’s marketing team needs a high five because I saw this mascara everywhere. To a point, I picked it up and I’m possibly a mascara snob. The company boasts that this mascara inflates lashes like a ‘hot air balloon’ and that 84% of consumers said they felt light as air. And I agree. I was pleasantly surprised at how full they looked without getting clumpy, that’s a hard combo to achieve with a thick bristle brush. While I’m not tossing away my faves just yet, I’m definitely adding this one to the date night repertoire.
Because they love us so much, L’Oreal produces this mega hit in three shades for all!
Vaseline Rosy Lip Therapy, $1.99 – Normally my lips aren’t chapped in the summer and I don’t know about you but mask wearing has taken its toll on my pout in the heat. I was literally at Target rummaging through my purse looking for Baby Lips (a must for winter!) when it was missing. So I grabbed this one and let me tell you, I found my new favorite summer lip product and it’s something you need to try. It has the expected cocoa butter moisture lock with the added nourishment of rose. The color is a light, natural hue that works in day or for a soft night look.
Grab it from your local Target or add it to the next drive up order
PUR Iconic Glow, n/a – Well, for fun, I tried this glowing body oil to give me a glistening beach look. It’s sheer, gold toned and looks fabulous on a ginger’s skin. Unfortunately, since finding it in my stash and using it for a few months, it’s been discontinued (oh the humanity!). Have no fear, I found a sister product in Anastasia Beverly Hills Shimmer Body Oil at Sephora!
